December 2008

Dear Valued Clients

Greeting to you all and from all of us at Agents Africa trust that you had a busy and prosperous 2008.

2008 has been an event full and busy year for us in Victoria Falls. Our marketing strategy has payed dividends, with us attending EIBTM for the second year running, meeting new agents and starting to see familiar faces. Agents Africa also attended Imex and the Russian Leisure show which have already borne fruit with numerous enquiries and a couple of confirmed groups. Kristina took in the highlights of Madrid by attending Fitur, doing some great business.

The most often asked question relates to Zimbabwe and the surrounding politics, safety, health and security issues. Our only answer is that we are still here, along with our families, and business. We don’t live somewhere ‘else’ and our motto is ‘we will make a plan’. We are totally committed and with the signing of the power sharing agreement between the political parties the ball has started to roll in the right direction. Still plenty to do on the political front but we are confident that 2009 and 2010 are going to be growth years for us,

The fact that we ran round the country trips which started in the capitol Harare, and takes in the cultural, historical and wildlife highlights of Zimbabwe en-route to Victoria Falls bears testimony to what an awesome destination Zimbabwe is. The revues were all stellar, the trips ran like clock work and everyone commented on the hospitality and friendliness of Zimbabweans from all walks of life.

Our Botswana and Zambian programs continue to flourish, especially the Vic Falls- Chobe combinations, with extensions into the Okavango delta. Both countries are experiencing tourism booms, but are so geared that most of the destinations do not have the crowds that are often associated with our East African wildlife destination counterparts.

Agents Africa has purchased a brand new 16 seat mini bus, which I will be using to run our Vic Falls-Hwange-Matopas trips. I will be personally leading the trips, which are truly great trips, contact us for scheduled departure dates. As is the first year running we are running the trips on a minimum of two pax, which is almost unheard of but we want to show case and highlight the truly spectacular and largely unheard of destinations in Zimababwe.

On a personal front, Kristina and I have two new additions to our family, twins will be arriving in Feb/March 2009, not quite planned but we look forward to their arrival, along with most of Victoria Falls. Twins a rarity in this neck of the woods, and I hope the numerous pledges of support, baby sitting ect come through from the community.

So all in all 2009 will be a busy year on all fronts,

Take care and have a great festive season,

John, Kristina and the Agents Africa Team.
